The last time we met, we studied the promise of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. That night many of us came forward and sat in the chair for prayer to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Words from Jesus: John 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

So, we know that we who asked for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit have received this baptism.

So, now what happens?

Well, on the day of Pentecost so many years ago, Peter stood up and preached and about 3,000 people we added to the church that day.

This is the reason the Holy Spirit came and filled the Church with power and authority, so the church would go and make disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

So, this is what the Lord Jesus wants from His Church, to bring men, women, and children to the knowledge of Jesus Christ where they believe and receive Jesus as their personal Lord and God, then we make them disciples (students of the teaching of Jesus).

My dear friends and brothers and sisters in the Lord Jesus Christ, God did not save us to simply sit and learn the bible, He saved us so that we would go and tell the world that God has come into the world that He created, so He could be the sacrificial Lamb who took away the sins of the world.

So, how do we bring that important message to the world that is now condemned because of their unbelief.

Jesus speaking in John 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

Many proclaim to believe in Jesus but don‘t understand that there are many beliefs on who Jesus is, it is the job of the Hoy Spirit using the Church (us) to teach who the real Jesus is.

Jesus is the Son of God, He is not the spirit brother of Lucifer, and He is not the Arc Angel Michael. We need to be able to correct the false teachings that Jesus is a good person, good teacher, good example to others or a prophet, but not the Son of God.

Below we see that God not only has a Son, but He sent Him to earth so that people would believe and receive eternal life.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

God does have a Son, and His name is Jesus, the Christ, the Messiah, the Savior of the world.

Muslims state that God has no Son, this is contrary to the scriptures, as we read the scripture above we can see that God gave His one and only Son that whoever believes shall not perish. Here is a Question for the Muslims, is the bible true or false? If the bible is true, then God does have a Son, His name is Jesus.

The Mormon’s believe that Jesus is the spirit brother of satin or Lucifer, and the Jehovah witnesses believe the Jesus is Michael the Arc Angel.

Lucifer and Michael are both angels who were created by the Word of God.

John 1:1-3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

Now this is important, so follow along please.

In the beginning, before anything was created there was the Word, so the person of the Word of God was there with the Father and Holy Spirit creating the heavens and the earth. Verse 2 of John chapter 1 notes that He (the person who is the Word of God) was in the beginning with God.

So, He, the Word, was with God, and was God. The Word is another title for the second person of the Triune God, we have the Father, the Son (the Word of God), and the Holy Spirit, all 3 were present in the beginning when all things were created (6 days).

In the Gospel of John chapter 1 in verse 14 we see that the Word or God becomes flesh and dwells among His creation, so God comes from heaven, and becomes a human, born as Jesus, the baby born in a manger.

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

God became flesh.

In John 1:3 speaking about the second person of the Triune God (the Word) it says “All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

So, the Apostle John states that Jesus is God the Word, and He was in the beginning with the Father and the Holy Spirit busy creating everything in heaven and on earth, and it is Jesus who is credited for creating all things “All things were made through Him”.

Everything, angels, man, and animals were created in and through Jesus the Word, the Son of God.

So, Lucifer and Michael the Arc angel were created by Jesus Christ the Word, Jesus is the creator, He is above all His creation, Jesus is the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, and it is at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and confess that Jesus is Lord.

Philippians 2:10-11 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

So, we will now have a class on how to share Jesus with a world perishing because of unbelief.

Now, how will we be witnessing to the unsaved!

First we find out where they are in the spiritual life, we find their location spiritually, then, and only then can we take them from their current spiritual location and bring them home to the Lord Jesus Christ. Below are some simple questions that will give us the knowledge we need (their spiritual location) so we can bring them to the saving knowledge of Jesus the Christ.

Questions

  1. If you died today, would you go to heaven?

If you ask people that if they were to die today, would they go to Heaven?

Most people would say I think so.

  1. Ask them why God should let them into His Heaven?

They think of themselves as being good, nice people who do harm, people who believe in God and go to church.

  1. Ask them about their church background, are they a seeker, do they believe in God, what is their church background.

Now that you understand what their personal beliefs are in God and their church background, you can bring them to Jesus Christ.

Good people don’t go to heaven, if that were possible, God the Father would have never sent His Only Begotten Son to die on the cross.

The bible says:

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:23).

As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one;
11     there is no one who understands;
there is no one who seeks God.
12 All have turned away,
   they have together become worthless;
there is no one who does good,
   not even one.” (Romans 3:10-12).

Pay attention, this is a must know!

We were born in sin, please let me explain you see, when Adam and Eve sinned in the garden of Eden, it brought in the curse of death, physical death, and spiritual death.

Physical death became a part of the life experience of mankind, it was not on the table until after Adam and Eve sinned, they could have lived forever in fellowship with God if they had not sinned.    But because of their sin, death became part of life for every person on earth (only 2 exceptions).

Sin is passed on to every generation:

“Sin entered the world through one man (Adam), and death (physical and spiritual death) through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned” (Romans 5:12).

It was through Adam that sin and death entered the world and without sin there is no death. When Adam sinned, he immediately died spiritually—his relationship with God was broken—and he also began dying physically—his body began the process of growing old and dying. From that point on, every person born has inherited Adam’s sin nature and suffered the same consequences of spiritual and physical death.

So, we know that no matter what we think about ourselves, the bible says we are all sinners, and we don’t seek God, and there is no good in us. Now that we know that being good can’t get us to Heaven, the question is then, what does it take to get to heaven?

John the Baptist: In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near. Mat 3:1-2

Repent simply means to stop, turn around and go in the opposite direction.

It is Jesus who gives us the power to change the direction in life, here is an example: there was a women brought to Jesus who was caught in the very act of adultery (caught in bed), she was found sleeping with another woman’s husband. The religious church leadership brought her to Jesus to see if He would condemn her, but after the self-righteous sinners departed Jesus said to her “go and sin no more”.

Just as Jesus gave the adulteress woman the power to go and sin no more, He gives us that power through His Holy Spirit for those who ask.

John 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Jesus said “you must be Born Again” to a man named Nicodemus, he was a religious teacher in the Law of Moses, a Pharisee. Jesus did not say you must go to church or keep the 10 Commandment, He says you must be Born again!                                                                                                                        Born Again, what does that mean? Jesus answers this in the following verse, John 3:5-6 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

The natural birth is through the water of the womb, the woman breaks her water bag, and the baby is delivered a short time after. This is the birth practice common for women for 1,000 of years.

Spiritual birth was not needed at the beginning, as Adam and Eve were created with a Spirit that was in fellowship with God.

God spoke to Adam: Genesis 2:16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

Adam and Eve disobeyed God, Eve was tricked by the Serpent/devil and ate of the tree that Adam was commanded not to eat. On that day when the sin of disobedience happened, the Spiritual part of Adam and Eve died, they were dead spiritually, they no longer had fellowship with God.

Mankind is born with the original sin of Adam and Eve, the wage of sin is death, both spiritual and physical death. This is why Jesus said, “you must be Born Again”, the spiritual part of mankind died in the Garden of Eden, just as God had warned Adam.

How to become Born Again:

One way is that you can read the Bible and as the Holy Spirit gives you an understanding of who Jesus is, what He came for, and what He has done for you to secure your Salvation, you can say a simple prayer something like the example below.

Another way is to respond to a message about Jesus Christ, if you understand that you are a sinner, and you need forgiveness from God (only God can forgive sin), you can pray a simple prayer, and the bible says, Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Simple prayer example: Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner, please forgive me, change my direction (I repent), I know that you came from Heaven to live as a man, so you could be sacrificial Lamb for me, I accept your free gift of Salvation and ask you to come into my heart, make me born again so I too can see the Kingdom of God, in Jesus name Amen.

PS: another way to bring people to Jesus for Salvation is using the Romans Road to Salvation (scriptures from the book of Romans).

Romans Road to Salvation

Step 1 - Everyone needs salvation because all have sinned.

Romans 3:10-12, and 23
As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous—not even one. No one is truly wise; no one is seeking God. All have turned away; all have become useless. No one does good, not even one.” ... For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. (NLT)

Step 2 - The price (or consequence) of sin is death.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. (NLT)

Step 3 - Jesus Christ died for our sins. He paid the price for our death.

Romans 5:8
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (NLT)

Step 4 - We receive salvation and eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:9-10, and 13
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved ... For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (NLT)

Step 5 - Salvation through Jesus Christ brings us into a relationship of peace with God.

Romans 5:1
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. (NLT)
Romans 8:1
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. (NLT)
Romans 8:38-39
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (NLT)

Responding to Romans Road

If you believe Romans Road leads to the path of truth, you can respond by receiving God's free gift of salvation today. Here's how to take your personal journey down Romans Road:

  • Receive, through faith in Jesus Christ, his free gift of salvation.

  1. Admit you are a sinner.

  2. Understand that as a sinner, you deserve death.

  3. Believe Jesus Christ died on the cross to save you from sin and death.

  4. Repent by turning from your old life of sin to a new life in Christ.
